Fans of the Duggar family are devastated this week after Josiah and Lauren Duggar revealed that they suffered a miscarriage.

AOL reported that the couple, who married last June, opened up about what they went through during a trailer for season four of the TLC reality show “Counting On.”

“Lauren and I were actually preparing for a trip, just to go to a friend’s wedding over the weekend,” said Josiah, 22. “She was feeling really sick and started noticing some different things. [Lauren’s mom] Mrs. Swanson was there, so she was able to kind of help her out. I didn’t know exactly what was going on.”

Lauren, 19, thought she was having a reaction to something she ate at first, but she quickly realized it was much more serious than that.

“I wasn’t feeling well. I was cramping really, really bad, which was quite strange because I normally don’t,” she said. “And I was thinking maybe I had something that had gluten in it. So, that’s what I was thinking.”

“Well, it was late in the night and I went to go to the restroom and right there was the baby. Gone,” she continued as she started to cry. “I couldn’t believe it and I was hoping it wasn’t true.”

Going through a miscarriage is difficult for any couple, but it must be especially hard for a couple as young as these two. We can only hope that they will be able to bounce back from this and that they are able to soon get pregnant once again. While this is undoubtedly very hard, time is on Josiah and Lauren’s side, and we’re sure that they will welcome plenty of little ones in the future.
